Running Touch drops psychedelic new track ‘Equaliser’ (Music Insight)
2017 has been a huge year for Running Touch. Hot on the heels of his acclaimed debut EP A Body Slow, the enigmatic artist has followed it up with a banging new track, ‘Equaliser.’
The new single sees RT push himself in a more psychedelic direction, with an ethereal, warped production style that compliments the great percussion and bass. The hypnotic lyrical hook by RT’s long time collaborator I.H. sticks in your head long after the first listen, with his direct delivery cutting through the track’s production brilliantly.
The single was also accompanied by a video showing the creation of the new single, released directly onto his Youtube channel.
“Equaliser was birthed at Melbourne’s “New Guernica” where I overheard the term being passed around for it later to be coined in to a drink,” Running Touch explained in a press release.
“This record was what came of spending most of this year accumulating and experimenting demos in my studio. This was originally a freestyle demo I created for Instagram called “A Thousand Years” (It’s still there).
“A completely haphazard tweak led to me terraforming the song and it being pulled out of the “maybe” pile amongst the 20 odd demos I had. From there, from its creation, amendments, mixing and artwork… I would have never known how much would have to go into it.”
‘Equaliser’ seems like the perfect way to bookend what has been a pivotal year in his career, but Running Touch is already looking onwards.
“Pushing what I’ve been working on throughout the year into the ether! From videos to a new live show, to new music and a few new collaborations, I’m itching for 2018!“
