Australian artist Vinny Lunar has provided the first glimpse of an exciting new musical project, releasing the track ‘Maria.’
The chilling track glides in on a carpet of synthesisers and catchy beats, but once Lunar pops into the track with his stunning soulful vocals, the song turns into a hypnotic analysis on love.
Mixed by George Nicholas, the track bears an uncanny resemblance to current large scale acts like The Weeknd, Banks and even old-school Usher. But it is fleshed out with Lunar’s signature style, with shimmering production and a romantic, nocturnal feel.
The track serves as a perfect taster to his brand new EP, which will be released in February 2018. His previous two releases, debut record Awake (2013) and EP Morning (2015) were released to considerable critical acclaim, and received significant airplay on stations like Triple J, FBi Radio and 2SER.
To coincide with the release of the new record, Lunar will be playing a special gig on at Oxford Art Gallery Bar on January 13th, 2018. You can check out details for that show here.
