Sam Smith to return to Australia for special one-off performance (Music Insight)

2018 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Sam Smith fans.

Following the return of the UK singer-songwriter earlier this year, with his song Too Good at Goodbyes opening at number one on the ARIA and UK charts it was announced that his much anticipated sophomore effort, The Thrill of It All will be released worldwide on November 3 of this year.

However, if this wasn’t enough, Smith will also be returning to Australia for a special one-off performance at the Sydney Opera House on January 16th, 2018. The fans who will be lucky enough to get tickets will be among the first in the world to hear Smith’s new tracks live.

Smith first rose to prominence off the back of his huge debut record In the Lonely Hour, which included smash hits Stay with Me and I’m Not the Only One. However, it was Writing’s on the Wall for the James Bond soundtrack Spectre which solidified his super star status, with the single earning him a Golden Globe and and an Academy Award.

The Thrill of It All already has been teased as being one of the biggest records of the year, and sees’ Smith collaborate with producers like Timbaland, Malay and Jason ‘Poo Bear’ Boyd, as well as Jimmy Napes and Stargate.

Due to the high demand of this concert, a maximum of two tickets only per customer is available for purchase, and both physical and emailed tickets will not being issued until after 2 January 2018.

Frontier Members pre-sale offers will go on sale from Thursday 13th October and end the following day, while general admission tickets will go on sale on Monday 16th October 2017 at 12noon AEDT.

Demand is expected to be extremely high, so for more information head to Frontier Touring, or to the Sydney Opera House website.

The writing is on the wall. Get your tickets quickly or miss out!
