Didirri announces Australian Tour with powerful new single, ‘Formaldehyde’ (Music Insight)

Melbourne-based artist Didirri will be heading on a national tour in April and May this year, bringing his powerfully mesmerising tracks to the masses.

After coming off a big year with breakout singles ‘Blind You’ and ‘Jude’, Didirri has become increasingly praised for his compelling songwriting, challenging lyrics, and his ability to tackle difficult issues with tact and respect.

If there is any track that indicates the level of his abilities, it is the new track he has dropped in support of this solo tour, ‘Formaldehyde.’

A beautifully intimate song dedicated to all the strong women in his life, Didirri’s vocals bring a sense of vulnerability and delicate intimacy to the track. The lyrics examine themes of embracing a feeling of losing control, something that we can all connect with at some point in our lives.

Combined with outstanding piano and a beautiful balance between intimate and hard hitting instrumentation, the track is one of the most beautiful songs to come out of the local scene in 2018.

“Formaldehyde is about nurturing the feeling of being out of control. Making sure you feel it to the fullest extent in order to resolve yourself”, explained Didirri.

“It’s not only about the feeling of being out of control but also one of pain. Specifically, when people ask you to let go of something you are not ready to let go of. When you can still see the beauty in holding on to something painful and ugly, and you can only let go of something when you can no longer see the beauty in holding onto it.”

In addition to doing a solo tour, Didirri will also be touring alongside Cub Sport in support of Vance Joy later in the year, which will give Aussie audiences plenty of chances to see this amazing artist in his element.

Tickets for his solo tour are on sale now, while tickets to the Vance Joy tour will go on sale this Friday.
